Step 2: First Interview & FDD

Interview with a Development Manager

Once our team member has scheduled your interview, you'll be provided with our current Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) and be asked to sign a receipt.

During the interview, our manager will discuss the information you provided on the request form, as well as your professional experience, business goals, and your ability to qualify to purchase a franchise.

Step 3: Due Diligence

Research & Insights

As any purchase you make should be well researched, it is critical to make sure that you have a thorough understanding of the franchise opportunity. We suggest you obtain legal advice from an attorney specialized in franchise law to help ensure that you are fully aware of what your obligations will be as a franchisee. We also encourage you to speak to current franchisees to gain valuable insight into their experiences.

Step 4: Financial Qualification

Submit Your Personal Financial Statement

Your Personal Financial Statement will help us evaluate your ability to support the purchase of a The UPS Store® franchise. Supporting financial documentation must be provided for all stated assets. We'll provide a checklist to help you collect the appropriate documents.

A final Executive Interview will be conducted with members of The UPS Store® management team. Be prepared to discuss your previous business experience, business goals, and your plans for operating one of our franchised centers.

Step 5: Full Franchise Application

Recommendation for a Franchise License

If recommended to move forward, you may be eligible to sign the Letter of Intent and provide your Initial Application Fee (IAF) payment after the required FDD waiting period.

Your full franchise application, including your Personal Financial Statement, will be submitted to The UPS Store , Inc.

If accepted, you will receive a congratulatory letter acknowledging your preliminary recommendation to join The UPS Store® network.

Step 6: Site Selection

Developing Your The UPS Store® Location

Franchise ownership and management can be an exhilarating journey for first-time entrepreneurs. The UPS Store® offers support every step of the way.

Once a proposed site is accepted, our dedicated teams will be in lockstep toward opening day. From lease negotiations to marketing initiatives, we’ll be by your side assisting you in submitting the necessary forms and filings with state agencies while our development coordinators will oversee the design and construction of your center.
